All-most...All-most...There We Go!

In the midst of apartment-hunting right now, which is seeing an increasing number of complications as the process moves along. It's a bitch, but it'll be worth it when it's all over (like next year...we're gonna pimp that place out...ya'll should visit). School's not helping either, but I've gotten into a pretty solid regiment of doing roughly half the work and it's working out so far (not looking forward to this semester's report card).

Finally started that script I've had in my head for years. Now granted I'm only three pages in, but hey, a start's a start...is a start.

I was lucky enough to see a sneak peak of Hot Fuzz (the new movie from the guys who did Shaun of the Dead) on Sunday, and it kicked ass. The director put it best - it's basically Michael Bay taking Agatha Christie from behind. Good stuff.

I'm really ready for some nice weather. SUMMER.

Okay. Time to go take a shower and pray the drain on Shower #3 (easily the best shower on the floor) isn't still clogged.

Messiness prevails!

There's an article up on Yahoo! today discussing the rise of messy work areas and how it may actually be a benefit. Neat people waste time and money, but an organized mess can be very effective. I don't know if that amuses me more than the existance of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), but it definitely helps prove a point I've been insisting for years.

Me On TV, Or: Dr. Kelso Sounds Funny With A High-Pitched Voice

So I'm 2.17% away from having the first five seasons of Scrubs on my computer, and I thought I could get away with watching an episode or two. I watched a third season episode, no problem, and I dove back into the second season, and things were going pretty well...until the title sequence. Then everything was about a pitch too high. So I momentarily watched Scrubs with, apparently, no bass. It was weird.

I think I've closed it up and seen the few remaining episodes I hadn't yet in the last two days...I'm not totally sure, but I'm at least really damn close.

WHAT ELSE (an overused phrase of mine when I feel I haven't made my attempt at a new post worth my time yet)...I'm seeing Hot Fuzz (the new movie from the Shaun of the Dead guys) on Sunday, even though it doesn't come out 'til mid-April, and with the writers, director, and principle cast in tow. Pretty pumped? You'd better believe I am.

Holy Hell, how have I not mentioned I'm gonna be on TV? So there's the channel, the Emerson Channel, that they pump into our rooms as part of our "cable package" (a package that doesn't include FX or the Sci-Fi Channel (Gallactica!)...or HBO for that matter, but I didn't get upset by that until I found out Spencer and Fullman and all those kids down at Loyola have it...damn LA kids), and on this channel they show everything from popular movies (and some unpopular ones) to truly awful student-produced talk shows (they used to have something, which they might still have for all I know, called The Ladies Room, which was pretty cool to watch 'cause at least half of those ladies were smokin'). Among those awful student-produced talk shows is a program called Tube Talk, which I have admittedly not seen and cannot attest to its quality.

Anyway, on this program called Tube Talk, next week (taped next week...I believe it'll be shown the week after), yours truly will be on to talk about NBC's Thursday comedy line-up (Comedy Night, Done Right...they really shoulda stuck with Must See TV). I'm pretty psyched about this on several levels. First, I'm just vain enough to want to be on TV shouting (or meekly offering) my opinions on...well, gosh, just about anything, and second, Lord do I love NBC's Thursday comedy line-up. I don't watch My Name Is Earl (I'll probably try to catch up so I've done my homework), but the triple-threat of The Office, Scrubs (which is my favorite show on TV...it really is...I love it to pieces), and the incredibly underrated 30 Rock is unstopable.

Anyway, I'll be sure to tape it because, yes, I'm just vain enough to think you're all vastly interested in it. Well, chances are you'll at least be able to laugh at me. I mean, let's face it - me on TV. Can only go so well.

Have I Got An Update For You!

Two of the greatest links ever, ever, EVER...

So funny I almost shat a brick.

And THIS is a website that allows you to take an mp3 from your computer and send it to your phone and use it as a ringtone. So now I have Wayne saying "Schwing!" whenever I get a text message and Vivaldi for my ringtone (still trying to come up with a really good ring).

It was sixty-seven degrees out yesterday and I was sooooooo excited. I spent almost two hours just laying out on the Common. A girl from the Herald took some pictures of me (at least she SAID she was from the Herald...that'd be wild). Today...a mere 53...tomorrow...34. Sigh.

Hey, Spring Break was sweet. Wish I'd had more time to see everyone, but whatever...school's over in a month and a half anyway.

300 is amazing. Prepare for glory indeed.

So I Was Avoiding Work Today...

And by "today" I mean...right now, and I wandered over to Yahoo! because their featured stories are almost always ridiculous. And one of them was "Which Jarred Marinara Sauce Is Best?" I started to read the story and quickly lost interest and cruised down to the comments section (221 comments, for those who would be as amazed as I). Anytime there's a comment section for...really, just about anything, there's always something worth reading. For example, this from "fivehands40" (which I'm definitely putting in as a new name in Halo...I don't know why, but it's funny to me) - "You people know nothing about sauce."

This comment is great on so many levels I don't know where to begin. It's something between the simplicity of the statement, the use of "you people" for Yahoo's food critics, and the fact that this statement posits the poster as some sort of sauce guru, above the rest of us.

Home!

After what was simultaneously the greatest (aisle seat of exit row with no one taking up the middle) and worst (airplane ears so bad I'm only just now getting my full hearing back) flight ever Saturday night, I've pretty much just been sitting around doing nothing. Hey, I'm sick, okay?

If you get the chance, see Zodiac. It's long, yeah, but it's unbelievably great.

Damn...nothing else really to say. I'm heading up to Seattle on Thursday to visit the bro, and back Saturday for a serious night on the town. Have to be on a flight at 6:20 AM Sunday? Pish-posh.

Driving kicks ass.

Ay Dios Mio...

Got a coupla things going on here...

Barely slept all this week, and I can feel it catching up with me now. Unfortunately, I have another day of class tomorrow in which a rough draft of an essay is due on a book that I only sorta read. As long as I can keep it focused on the first half of the book, I'm solid (Invisible Man, FYI). I really liked that part of the book, but there's a very definite point in which I just lost all interest in the story. Don't really know why. The rough draft, by the way, will only really be seen in a peer review session, as our prof will be away at a conference (the only damn prof I've ever heard of that gets substitute teachers). Anyway, I haven't started it.

My room is also being taken over by people I...sort of know. I need to get a head start on the essay in order to not completely F myself in my own A tomorrow morning. Anyway, at least one of them's high, and a mildly-tipsy girl's been wandering in and out. I was going somewhere with this, but I can't remember.

Can't wait to have a week off (sort of...despite the presence of two essays, it's still a pretty solid week to myself).

Oh good, they're gone.

Oh, and there may or may not be cockroaches in my room. Big fun.
